Nkechi Blessing Sunday was born on the 14th of February, 1989. She is an American-based Nigerian actor, film producer, film director, and screenwriter. Nkechi was born and raised in Surulere, Lagos State.

Nkechi produced her first movie, Omoege Lekki in 2015, starring herself, alongside Yinka Quadri. In 2016, her first movie, Omoege Lekki won MAYA Awards and she was nominated for Revelation of the Year at Best of Nollywood Awards.

Nkechi Blessing Sunday is a native of Abia, a state in the South East region of Nigeria. She had her primary education at Olu Abiodun Nursery and Primary school, Lagos and went to Barachel Model College, in Lagos for her secondary education.



Nkechi did a six-month diploma in theatre arts at the Lagos State University, before moving to the USA to study International Relations at Houdegbe North American University.

Career


After she graduated from Lagos State University, her friend “Kemi Korede” discovered Nkechi’s passion for acting and featured her in one of her movies “Omo Bewaji” in 2008.

This became a minor break for her career and led to her meeting with Emeka Duru, who also offered her a supporting role in Emem Isong movie; Through The Fire & Entanglement in 2009.

She came into limelight in 2012, with a lead role on Kafila Omo Ibadan. This happened after she met with the producer, Temitope Bali in South Africa, who then offered her the role on Kafila Omo Ibadan.

The Nigeria Carnival USA, unveiled her as one of its ambassadors at the second edition of the yearly Nigeria music, cultural and comedy event in the United States of America, on the 1st of February, 2017.

In 2018, she played the role “Dora” in the movie by Toyin Abraham, The Ghost and the Tout. This also landed her an award at the 2018 City People Movie Award for Most Promising Actress of the Year.

Nkechi Blessing co-hosted the 2020 edition of the African Entertainment Awards USA with Seun Sean Jimoh. That same year, Nkechi was in the cast of Fate of Alakada as the character of Bisi. She starred with a lead role on Tanwa Savage, The Cleanser, Omo Emi, and Ise Ori. She also acted in a supporting role on Breaded Life, and Olori Amolegbe.

“Divorce rate is so high because people are ready for weddings, not marriage… Ya all waiting for me to post my wedding pictures before you believe I am married…LMAO! I NBS wants marriage and not a wedding ain’t ready to make my relationship your entertainment”. This was said by Nkechi before they got divorced.

On 10 June 2021, Nkechi confirmed her marriage between her and the Ekiti politician, Falegan Opeyemi David. She shared photos from their wedding on his birthday via her Instagram Story.



On 23 September 2021, she lost her mum “Gloria Obasi Sunday”, while getting ready to launch her premium movies in Lagos biggest theatre.



Nkechi Blessing announced via Instagram that she had ended her marriage with Falegan Opeyemi David on the 6th of April, 2022.

It was said that Falegan, her now Ex-husband left her because of her personal hygiene. He said,”he would have to tell his wife, Nkechi, to change her pants in three days.

He also complained about her not brushing her teeth in the morning. And after the whole thing, everywhere is messed up. Falegan couldn’t not manage that, which was why he ended the marriage.

She responded to his accusations, that she didn’t even own panties since she was 18.
