Ife Durosinmi-Etti, born on the 6th of December,1988 is a an author, sales and marketing expert, a relatable entrepreneur and the CEO of Herconomy, Africa’s first digital platform that partners with Amazon to enable women occupy managerial positions and be financially independent. She is a women empowerment advocate and is always seen doing something to transform the lives of women and make them better people in the society. It is this passion she has that pushed her to create along with 20 founding members, Herconomy which is a female-focused Fintech start-up. She is married with children.

Early life


Ifedayo Durosinmi-Etti, a Tony Elumelu Foundation alumnus, is a dual citizen of Nigeria and Britain born to the Adegbenro family in 1988. Her father Engineer Adesina Adegbenro was still in the higher institution when Ifedayo was born.

Personal Life


Ife Durosinmi-Etti is married to Abdul-Gafaar Eniola Durosinmi-Etti whom she met when she was working in the Nigerian Breweries PLC as a manager in the Corporate Affairs department. Her husband is the Human Resources relationship manager at the Standard Chartered bank, Nigeria. They have two children together, Oluwawamiwa, a girl and Oluwabamise, a boy. Asides working towards creating opportunities for women, Ife enjoys working out at the gym, traveling and going on outings with her children and friends. She is the author of the book, Accessing Grants for Startups which is a guide for African entrepreneurs. She is also deeply involved in youth empowerment, hence her position as the youth advisor to the World Bank.

In 2004, Ifedayo graduated from the Vivian Fowler College for girls where she had her secondary school education and is a biochemistry graduate of Covenant University(2004-2009), a course she knew she was never going to practice. She was initially studying Chemical engineering but crossed to study biochemistry when she didn’t feel up to the task. After her first degree, in 2011, she proceeded to get an MBA in Global Business at the Coventry University, UK which she felt would create a different pathway from the laboratory and bagged the degree in 2012. She studied at the Saïd Business School where she took the Oxford Fintech programme in 2021.

Career Life


Ife Durosinmi-Etti’s career began in London where she worked for a marketing company called Aspire Acquisitions and later worked for a large fashion retail company, Arcadia Group Limited. Prior to these, she wasn’t quite sure what are career path was as she is a biochemistry graduate , a course she did not intend to pursue. After working in the above companies she began to notice her interest in business and decided to pursue a master’s degree in Global Business from the Coventry University. Upon getting her MBA, she started receiving several offers from the banking industry and the Nigerian Breweries PLC. She accepted to work with the Nigerian Breweries as it was her dream job at the time, and worked there for about five years. She quit and focused fully on her business. She is a proud alumnus of the Tony Elumelu Foundation, owned a children furniture company called Parliamo Bambini. She eventually ventured into Fintech, noticing her love for youth and women empowerment, she has made this core niche. She started the AGS tribe in 2018 and launched the company’s mobile app in December 2020 before the name changed to Herconomy in August 2021.
It is Ife’s intention to uplift women in their businesses and finances and she has brought to their comfort through the Herconomy mobile app where they can also apply for legitimate grants and loans. In 2021, she became the youth advisor to the World Bank and has since been making waves.
