Ala G Courure is owned by Olatunji Glory who is a fashion stylist born in Ibadan, Oyo State. The idea of this fashion brand came to her as far back as 2008/2009. She realized that this was what she wanted to do because she was drawn to designs and fashion in its entirety. Her love for design grew over time and it became a major strength for her.
The brand’s intention to stick to the use of African print stems from the need to create beautiful pieces and also promote our culture, the African culture at large. The brand has made people appreciate the beauty of the prints and its culture.
She says, “My designs and quality of services are the reasons my brand is different”. There is always a story behind every print and design.

Ala G couture was founded by Olatunji Glory, a fashion stylist and lover who is currently studying Public Administration at the National Open University of Nigeria, popularly known as NOUN. Despite the demand to have to juggle her academics and business, she is learning the art of balancing both together so that one does not suffer for the other. She intends to expand and grow the business even after completing her degree. She is from Oyo State, but resides in Lagos.
Challenges
One of the major issues faced was getting capital for the business, she was met with a lot of turn downs and had to source the money herself. Another one is the competitive market, getting loyal customers but she fought that by creating a niche for herself. She was also faced with the issue of getting quality fabrics here in Nigeria in large quantities which led her to sometimes import materials. She has been able to overcome all these challenges by the tenacity and passion that she has for her brand.
