A lecturer in the University of Lagos, Dr. Akintoye Akindele is a graduate of Chemical Engineering from Obafemi Awolowo University. He is a renowned philanthropist, investor and the author of the book “Àsàké: Chronicles of Treasure”.

Education
Dr. Akintoye Akindele completed his primary education at Santa Maria Nursery and Primary School, a private catholic school at Olorunsogo, Mushing, Lagos state. After is primary school education, he proceeded to the Nigerian Navy Secondary School, Navy Town, Ojo. In the 1990, Dr. Akintoye got admitted into Obafemi Awolowo University to study Chemical Engineering as his first degree and graduated in 1996. He later got a diploma in Advanced Corporate Finance from the London Business School in 2006. The next year, he went back to the same institution to obtain a Senior Executive Program in Management and Strategy. The next year, he progressed towards obtaining a diploma in Private Equity from the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford. In his academic advancements, he obtained a PhD degree from the International School of Management.
Career
Dr. Akintoye Akindele CFA studied Chemical Engineering at Obafemi Awolowo University however, as a result of the transition and huge economic reconstruction during Abacha’s regime, there was a lot of confusion as to what to focus on. His switch into finance from engineering wasn’t exactly voluntary as he didn’t want to be a financier at the time because majority of his family members were largely in the finance and business world and this drove him to study engineering. After his first degree, he started working in Guarantee Trust Bank, receiving trainings from Tutu Soleye who was the head of the GTBank training school. Asides the unconscious mentoring he had received from his father and his brothers who were already in the finance sector, banking was the starting point towards his transition from engineering into finance. He had worked at three different banks before creating his first company Synergy Capital and advisory limited. He is currently the Co-chair man of WhitespaceX, Executive Chairman of the Platform Capital Investment partners, executive chairman of Unicorn Group, Board member of Koniku, Chairman of the board of directors of Lipa Later Limited and the Executive Chairman of Atlantic International Refinery and Petrochemical Ltd. He is also a lecture at the University of Lagos and a member of Lagos Business School team.
He also authored the book “Asake: The Chronicles of Treasure”.
