How to register for JAMB
Below are the steps to follow to register for JAMB. You might need to visit any of the accredited JAMB registration centres to complete the online registration form.
Create an email account
Creating a valid email address is probably the first step in your registration. Typically, JAMB recommends getting a Gmail account. Furthermore, you need an active phone number for the registration process. You are the only one that should use the phone number. In addition, you will receive every information about your registration via the unique number. To procure the registration form, you’ll need a profile code of 10 characters sent to your phone number. The phone number is linked to your JAMB registration. It’s advised that candidates should remember their unique phone number as it will be needed for subsequent communication with the board.
Obtain your NIN
Recently, it’s now imperative for JAMB candidates to have National Identification Number (NIN). In addition, you’ll need to send your NIN by text to 55019.
Generate a JAMB profile
After you’ve gotten an email address and NIN, you can proceed to create a JAMB profile on the examination board website, portal.jamb.gov.ng/Efacility. Click on the website link. This will redirect you to JAMB portal where you’ll need to create your profile. Without JAMB profile creation, you won’t have access to the registration form. Once you’ve created a JAMB account, you can proceed with the registration, check your result online, view your admission status, etc.
Check Jamb iBass
After you’ve created a profile, you need to check Jamb iBass to determine your eligibility for your chosen program and institution.
Obtain JAMB e-pin
After checking your eligibility, you can go ahead to purchase your JAMB e-pin registration from authorized outlets and banks. You can make payment on the JAMB portal or Remita platform. In addition, you can pay for the e-pin through NIPOST, ATM or your phone.
Visit a JAMB CBT centre
After you’ve obtained your pin, you can proceed to any accredited CBT centres with your personal details, code and JAMB profile to complete your registration. Any one who registers anywhere else besides the CBT centre does it at their own peril.

- Candidates cannot use wristwatch, electronic device, phone, biro or pen in the examination hall.
JAMB Mock Exam
- Generally, the board organizes a mock examination in all the accredited CBT centres to prepare and acquaint candidates with the computer based test (CBT). If you wish to write the mock examination, ensure you indicate interest during the registration.
JAMB Registration Template
A registration template will come in handy if you aren’t familiar with the registration process. On getting your e-pin, don’t be quick to go to an accredited centre. First download, print and fill the JAMB Registration Template. It’s best to complete the template before commencing registration at the centre. This will help curb errors. Make sure you check the JAMB brochure to determine the right subject combination and institution that offers your preferred program.
